A new business or just a crazy hobby?

Shannon was throwing a baby sprinkle (second baby shower) for a friend of hers and asked if I would help her by making some fun cookies for favors....I JUMPED on the chance, it sounded like fun and was a project for me. Oddly enough it was a slow project week. So off I set to make 3 dozen frosted baby onesies...... after the detailed decorating......my hands were beginning to throb
the cute packaging
more cuteness
the final look
I had so much fun from the baking to the packaging. The only problem is I wasn't satisfied with the frosting recipe. If anyone out there has a good sugar cookie frosting for decorated cookies please let me know.

Happy Birthday to Braden

February 10th Braden turned 5!!!!! We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a dinner/cake with his family. He wanted a animal theme AGAIN, so we went with it!! He wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting as his cake and mashed potatoes and bread & butter for his dinner. Well we decided that we couldn't just have cake and carbs....so we added fried chicken and my Aunt Mary's Garbage Salad. He had a great night and was so glad everyone was there!!

For those of you who DON'T know, Braden was born 13 weeks preematurely. He was born at 26 weeks, weighing exactly 2 pounds and was 12 inches long. He spent 4 months in the hospital and came home on oxygen. He is amazing and is the strongest little boy I know. Listening to him, looking at him and living with him, you would never know the start he had, and believe me....he had a busy start full of every infection known to man, blood transfusions, eye surgeries, ventilators, cpap, cannulas, ivs everywhere, feeding tubes, isolation, broken ribs, codes, spinal taps, kidney failure, pneumonia, just to name a few......thank you for all your prayers. Our family would not be the same if he was not a part of it!! Happy 5th Birthday Braden!! We Love you So!

Gourmet Your Way

My lovely bro/sis in laws Shannon and Steve got me a Gourmet Your Way gift certificate for my birthday (August). She called me up a few weeks back to tell me they were CLOSING. Now, for those of you who don't know...Gourmet Your Way is in East Moline and it is a place where you go make meals to freeze out of fresh ingredients. Long story short, we went last Friday with some of her friend from work. I made 6 entrees and got around 17 meals out of it. They include yummy things such as Sausage/Couscous stuffed peppers, chicken cordon bleu, tortellini bake, cornmeal crusted tilapia (yeah lent), chicken enchiladas and basil and tomato stuffed chicken breasts. I had a great time and am sad that it is closing, it is a great idea. But never fail, there is apparently another place like this across the river and one (Super Suppers) in Peoria!!!

My World

So for the past few days Finley has basically had a cold....cough, mild fever, poor appetite...you know a cold. Well....her evenings are horrible, she hacks and coughs nonstop and can't get a good night sleep. We have tried ALL sorts of over the counter remedies, some that have even been pulled from the shelves for overdosing. So last night Sean told me she needed to go to the Dr. in the morning....and that we did. Mind you it is snowing to beat the band here...that heavy wet snow. The roads are horrible, but luckily 205 didn't cancel school, so Braden was occupied. She had a temp, so I gave her some Motrin...and of course she was fine by the time we got to the Dr. office. She was RUNNING all over the office....I am sure the nurses were like "Yeah she's really sick"....needless to say she has a virus AND an ear infection. So I guess, she is legit

here is what my kitchen counter looks like....walgreens
