all they want to do

Whenever we go to the house all the kids want to do is play in the dirt, the sand or on the "hill"....we ALWAYS come home dirty or dusty

some exciting stuff!!

So the ENTIRE upstairs that needs ceiling sheet rock is sheet rocked. Today he started on hanging the walls....craft room, master bath, master closet, outer master walls...DONE. It is CRAZY how it looks so different, bigger almost, and way more like a house!!
3 doors are......linen closet door to the "potty" room door to the closet

master closet

Back of the family room and the garage in the foreground....if you haven't heard it before...I REALLY LOVE THE BRICK!!

Our back yard....nice mess!!

Standing at the "bar" area looking toward the kitchen/eating area. They added the mini ceiling divider thingy....the far one. The near one has been there forever

From the eating area looking back towards the bar....this is the cleanest the room has looked in awhile...

she's at it again

Yes I made them....yes they are a horrible color combo....I made it on the "fly". I am making a batch for my sister in law for a party favor....I'll post those pictures later.

so much for "earth day"

The Kane's are planning to enlarge their garage in the near future so these trees had to go....There were 2 right on the side of the garage. You can see the stumps
This large crabapple has a disease and is a nasty mess all summer/fall. It had to go too....it is(was) wonderful shade and hours of bird/squirrel watching fun.
at the end of the day

Pretty sad that on Earth Day we were cutting down trees......the HUGE one in the front as well as the hedges surrounding the porch are next to go.

mmmm...basketti

Fin wanted to wear a scarf like mommy.....
the only meal that takes her FOREVER to eat, is totally messy and I feel like by the end of it she has eaten 1/2 cup of "basketti"....but she loves it!!

house business

BIG DAY at the old house on Friday!! Sheet Rock was delivered, more insulation was delivered (finished insulating house/garage and now working on basement), bricklayers had a great day to work....75 degrees!! THE HOLE DEAL was there....yes they are installing the geothermal wells. Let me tell you...that is a crazy process and MESSY!! I think they got 6 of the 8 or 9 done...so they will be back. Saturday, we drove over to the house to show Sean's parents the geothermal stuff...and the drywaller was hanging sheet rock!!!! The ceiling in my craft room (most important...ha!!), master bath and master closet was up and ready to roll.....THAT was exciting!

not sure if I have shown the front door....LOVE IT, especially from the inside!! It lets so much light in!! The actual door is solid, however the sidelights and transom above do the trick!

showing that the bricklayers have the garage finished and washed....this is an old picture. They are currently ALMOST done with the inset between the house and the garage on the south side. It is horribly wet now, thanks to the weekend rain (all day Sunday no less) so who knows when they will get there again.

Insualtion over the garage...different due to the fact there is no "attic" above...those black things are moisture trays.

long time no post....lots of pics

So a lot has been going on here, besides the house, and I thought I would enlighten you with some pictures.

Finley is OBSESSED with tea time. Usually when Meme is around or over at Nana's she wants to drink from her tea set. I had borrowed and actual tea service for that ladies luncheon I had...26 ladies...You should have seen her face when she saw it....WOAH!! Needless to say, once the luncheon was over, she had a little tea party...
Sean and I celebrated our "dating" anniversary on the same day as the luncheon and he sent me these....18 years
Serious business...used actual china, teacups and sterling silverwear.

Auntie Em popped over with some fun....remember this stuff?? It still smells the same, in case you were wondering.

the kids LOVED it!! Thanks Auntie Em.

Our Nephews had their birthday party at Jungle Bungle (Happy Joes)....check out the determination on Kanes face....and Cole's roll is straight down the center!! He will beat Uncle Rock one of these days. Check out Aunt Kari's blog for the full story of the winner HERE .

finley is CHEATING......

Happy Birthday Kane (7)!!

Happy Birthday Cole (3)!!

Finley got a REAL haircut. She was a ROCKSTAR!! Didn't complain ONCE.....and we made a follow appointment.
Of course we colored Easter Eggs....2 dozen of them....any suggestions on how to eat them besides the usual?

I especially love the "wrappers". We actually blow out the insides....not pretty or easy....so these technically could last forever. I threw them away with the riff raff today in my weekend purging. They are fun, will definately do more next year!!

The Easter Bunny found our house.....Braden gingerly looked for eggs (he recently had some little boy surgery) and Finley spent most of the time saying "Look at all the Eggs"....not picking any up. She eventually did and insisted on giving the Star Wars ones she found to Braden. Such a nice girl, HA!

Some of the Kane Bunny's Favorite hiding places......there was an egg in EVERY shoe on the first floor....needless to say, the night before we had been at a surprise 40th birthday party and lost interest (I was actually asleep....put Brady to bed and didn't return....THANKS SEAN!!)

Easter also is our at least 30th annual....im 35 and we've been doing this as long as I can remember....Strawberry Pancakes at Grandmas....This year was no different. We actually got Finley to eat the "traditional" method (pancake/butter/brownsugar/strawberry concoction/whipped cream). Braden stuck to the pancake/butter/syrup method (SHOCK)
Yes, thats my plate, yes they were YUMMY and yes I had seconds.....

So no house pictures....its raining today and I hope to get there tomorrow WITH my camera. I keep forgetting it. Lots going on, of course. All the inspections (construction, plumbing, electric) have passed. They have the ENTIRE upstairs insulated. The house is wired for security/satellite tv/audio system. The limestone sills were delivered and the south side of the garage is bricked/silled. Check back later :).

Her Easter outfit....not to churchy....I know....
Scroll wwaaaayyyy down. Blogger is acting crazy.
