rainy days

A rainy day was forecasted for Wednesday (during Spring Break) so Nana and I ventured with the kids to the Quad Cities to go to Monkey Joe's again and possibly the zoo (yay) if the weather cleared. Well....needless to say, it rained the whole day. So after a few hours at MJ's we braved Chuck E Cheese.....we were there for at least 2 hours and were the ONLY people there. An added bonus....they were doing maintenance all the machines so they ALL WORKED!! We also met some friends there so it was nice for the kids to play while the adults chatted....who am I kidding, the adults played too!! The biggest hit were these "cheesy" i.d. cards for a token. They are little drivers license size cards with your pictures on it. I am a "VIP Diva".....your surprised?? Ha!! Then a power trip through Kohls...seriously....30 minutes, a drive thru Whitey's Ice Cream and back to Galesburg. Fun Day!!

not sure why this picture is to the left.....and it wont center???

annual strawberry pancakes

Another "first time in a long time"...all the Burgland grandkids, significant others and great grand kids at grandmas for strawberry pancakes.....we actually have "reservations" so we all overlap. Georges crew at 9, Margies crew at 930 and John's crew at 1000. While we were all there a picure was a must!!
Kane family....in our Easter Best...hahaha

Mike, Caroline (and Baby Cormier) and Aunt Margaret
Luke, Rich and Amy...who had THE COOLEST shoes on today.
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday.

egg hunt

Today was the FIRST Easter in a long time that it was decent enough for the Easter Bunny to leave some eggs outside. Northern Illinois is usually rainy, cold, damp, windy and wet on Easter. The kids were excited to have to "hunt" inside and out!!

eggs

Like a majority of folks, this evening we colored some eggs. Actually it went quite smoothly and they all turned out real well. The secret is to go back a second time and re-dip. Makes the eggs more vibrant and the experience longer. My parents didn't have any plans, so they brought some Chinese food...yum and helped out. Well, dad helped. Mom, bless her heart, folded our laundry!! Thanks mom, that was super nice. Thanks dad, you were a huge help as well!
