On Sunday we went to the Niabi Zoo...our favorite...and met up with the Millers and Meme and Grandad. It was a beautiful day, all the animals cooperated (except braden and finley in the below picture) and I braved the "feed the bird" cage. **not my fave, creeps me out**

house stuff
We, like you all, got a TON of rain on Friday....like 5 inches (on top of the 3 on Wed)...so needless to say, not a lot of stuff went on at the house. This is them last week working on the back porch which is now finished...they now are almost done with the front porch. I need to get the camera over there :).

updating...
So I have been a BAAAD blogger. I just am too overwhelmed to upload the zillions of pictures I have to upload....TBall games, Mother's Day, House Progress, Braden's Class Program (cute), Finley's new bike, etc....
So I will give you this...only because it was emailed to me. This is a KITCHEN CABINET!!!! They are rolling down there in Arthur!! The rumor is that they will be delivered during the 1-2 weeks of June. Our hardwood is being delivered tomorrow, although they wont be ready to install it for a few weeks. We are heading to some tile supershowroom tomorrow to pick tile for the bathrooms, backsplash and laundry room...the drywallers are ALMOST finished to the point where Justin, our tile guy, can get in and do his magic. The brickies have the North side 2/3 bricked...we got at least 2 inches of rain yesterday so needless to say there was nothing going on outside the house. The back porch (a.k.a. my secret tanning spot....HA) is finished structurally and the front is just lacking the upper posts. I am starting the process of deciding paint colors....YIKES...toooo many to choose from. Although I am leaning towards "hopsack"...look it up!!
We have our garden planted here at the Kane house...tomatoes, beans, broccoli rabe, okra (NASTY), zucchini, cucumber and banana peppers.....sounds like a lot, but only one plant of each (except the tomatoes). Due to the fact that we will be all over the place this summer with the house/small trips/baseball/swimming/summer in general...we kept it simple. The Kanes have removed 4, yes 4, trees and ALL the shrubs from the front yard...I will have a before and after for you soon. So they have a lot of yardwork to do.
Can you sense me salivating over here......LUUUV the cabinet finish!!

kids at play
I know you are wondering...yes, I made the shirt to go with Fin's shorts. I took the back pockets off her shorts (what 3 year old needs back pockets) and used the fabric to make the circles on the shirt...go ahead a click on it for a better view. Yes, I know you all dont care. I am just braggin' on myself. That is what this blog is for, right?? Tee hee hee
outside progress
sooooooooooo.....we are hoping this is our correct address. Its permanently there now.
look how well you can see it from the street. SO--for those of you reading this, this will make NO sense. Our mailbox will be at the end of the driveway which is around the curve from the front door...(our lot is on a curve). With that said, our address will also be on the mailbox.

may baskets
Do you make May baskets? I VIVIDLY remember making may baskets (cones) out of wallpaper samples, filling with candy and flowers from the yard, then hanging them on the neighbors doors, ringing the doorbell and running.....we would make them the night before and "deliver" them before school in the morning.
Braden and I made them this year for his teacher, her aid and Nana (my moom) who was teaching at his school on May Day. He was excited, helped out and then chickened out when he got to school....poor kid. His crazy momma makin' him do cheezy crafts....I think we will just stick to doorbell deliveries next year.
