another "last"

Sean's Mom and Dad are both retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. from being the media specialist/librarian at Streator High School and Mr. from being the football coach/athletic director for Streator High School. For the last 18 football seasons, I have watched Coach Kane in some capacity. Our Fall is dedicated to travelling somewhere to watch his team battle another. I, have only been a part of 18 seasons.....almost HALF of his career.....40 years. Coach Kane has been a Head Coach for 40 football seasons. This is his last year and we went to his last Home game this past week.....
I apologize for the photos...I took my crappy camera due to the weather and it has a horrible flash for night images. It wasn't the outcome the Bulldogs were hoping for, however I am glad we went. I cannot imagine what is rolling around in Mr. Kanes head...what he will do on Sunday nights when he normally has to get back to work. Even better, Mrs. Kane. To be able to watch the football game as a "spectator" and not as someone involved, or with something at stake, or having to hear the comments of others. Bittersweet I am sure.

couple of hams....

proud daughter

The ENTIRE Sterling team hollered at Coach Kane and stopped him on the field. The ENTIRE team shook his hand......nice touch, class acts.

I, for one, Mr. Kane will really miss having someone to root for!!!!!!! It has been fun talking about the upcoming season, how practices/players are going, wearing school colors, and cheering you on!! However, you deserve some time to yourself......no more bus rides ;).
We Love You!!
